Project Looking for opportunity in digital age (DigiLOOP) aims to enhance senior citizens’ active participation in the modern digitalized society by enhancing their digital skills and enhancing their confidence in utilizing these skills in daily life. Digital literacy has become essential for social integration, and senior citizens often face challenges in keeping up with rapid technological advancements. With the DigiLOOP project, we aim to bridge this gap and ensure that older generations become equal participants in the digital environment.

By developing a curriculum tailored to the specific needs of seniors, we will work on improving their digital skills and their understanding of modern technology, ensuring the curriculum aligns with the quality standards of informal education. By creating educational materials, we will enable seniors to better understand and use modern technology in everyday life. We will organize a training for trainers to effectively work with the target group and establish an online community that is going to serve as a platform for collaboration, learning, and the exchange of experience among seniors.

Through the project, 200 seniors from 4 countries of the European Union – Croatia, Lithuania, Poland and Slovenia – will undergo digital education, acquiring key competencies and the confidence for participating in the digital society. Additionally, we will train peer mentors, senior individuals who have already developed their digital skills, to moderate the online community and conduct educational activities in their local environments, ensuring sustainability and the dissemination of knowledge after the project concludes.

The coordinator of the Erasmus+ project DigiLOOP is the Centre of Technical Culture Rijeka, implementing the project with partner organizations: Asociacija “Viesieji interneto prieigos taskai” (Lithuania), “Edukacyjne Centrum Integracji Miedzypokoleniowej HIPOKAMP” (Poland), and Simbioza Genesis, socijalno podjetje (Slovenia).
